Background
We know from research that strategic change initiatives often fail because of the human dimension and that, to embed strategic change, the change needs to be accepted by all people at all levels. But change can cause both resistance and overload in the people involved and we know that teams often don’t feel ready and able for change. There is an alternative: adaptable organisations are resilient, learning-orientated, change-ready and change-able and agile organisations can be built. HR has an important role in creating the conditions for people and organisations, equipping people with the skills and mindsets to respond, and considering the interaction of employees embracing change with HR policies and processes.
