As in recent years at UHR24 we will be using the Hopin platform for our online conference, now known by the brand name Ring Central. Many colleagues will be familiar with it. It’s an easy-to-use and technically reliable platform that has worked for us for four years now. We are very conscious that this is a Covid-era way of working that still makes sense for UHR, and we are still sometimes asked why we haven’t gone back to an in-person conference.
The simple answer is that Ring Central allows us to have far more delegates register and take advantage of their preferred elements of conference, than we ever could for an in-person event. At each of the online conferences since 2020, more than 2000 delegates have attended, in comparison to the attendance of around 200 people at our last in-person conference in Manchester in 2019. We simply can’t turn our backs on all of those additional colleagues who would not be able to join us for a large-scale in-person conference. Every summer we re-validate our choice to stay with this platform by looking at alternatives, and so far it keeps coming out on top!
In addition, our events programme has grown into new shapes since Covid, with both the Senior HR Summit and UHR Connects programme acting as the face-to-face ‘glue’ that holds the UHR community together.
So join us on Ring Central on 14 May for day one of conference. Plan your favourite sessions into your diary ahead of time so that you find the right work-life-conference balance!
