The Awards Showcase is a window onto the projects that won, or were runners up, in the 2024 UHR awards. Each session will focus on one award category and bring together the individuals who led and delivered the projects. Presenters will give a quick overview of their projects before having a facilitated conversation about the opportunities and challenges the activity brought about. The audience will get the opportunity to engage directly with the presenters to ask any questions.
WINNERS - Durham University: Health & Wellbeing Strategy
This winning nomination detailed the implementation of a comprehensive Health and Wellbeing Strategy designed to promote a supportive work environment for staff and students to enable them to thrive. The strategy was co-created and implemented, and offers a huge range of resources and initiatives to address the muti-faceted aspects of working and studying at Durham, addressing the wellbeing of the whole community.
RUNNERS-UP - Leeds Beckett University: Leeds Beckett Wellbeing Assessment
Launched in June 2023, the Wellbeing Assessment is a new, empowering approach to team conversations about wellbeing. We are seeing positive changes as a result, with teams feeling more supported by their managers, more connected to one another, and reporting a better work-life balance.
The new structure prompts regular, honest conversations amongst teams with a focus on solutions and shared responsibility, as well as identifying what is already working well. This enables us to share and promote positive, practical strategies across the University community.
The Wellbeing Assessment supports the Stress Risk Assessment process, and enables all colleagues to have input at a team level.
