Employers - NIC free for 1st year veterans

Following the Government’s consultation on supporting veterans’ transition to civilian employment, draft legislation has been published for a cut to employers’ NIC for veterans first year of employment, which is due to take effect from 6 April 2021.
Essentially, a zero rate of employer (secondary) Class 1 NIC (up to the Upper Secondary Threshold) will apply for their first year of civilian employment, relief available up to £5k per veteran. Awaiting further detail on how the claim can be made.
