CUC guidance on senior pay

In an area where there are certainly more curious spectators than interested/impacted insiders, the Committee of University Chairs (CUC) has, after much consultation, published its new senior staff Remuneration Code for Higher Education this week. CUC Executive Secretary John Rushforth introduces the code with an article on Wonkhe.
Despite this being a week when the THE announce that Australian HE VCs have joined the millionaire’s club, we’ve learnt long ago that this kind of comparison makes little headway. Instead we have the Guardian’s headline of a ‘watered down’ code for company, while the BBC’s suggests that university bosses’ pay rules are still ‘woefully inadequate’. The OfS is due to publish its own guidelines on HE senior pay later this Summer.
